This guide walks through the confirmed multiplayer loop for Halloween: The Game—what each side is trying to do, how matches stay varied, and what still needs launch verification.

  1. Lobby: Up to 5 players—1 Michael, 4 Civilians (see /multiplayer/).
  2. Map load: One of the revealed Haddonfield maps (/maps/).
  3. Civilian phase work: Find residents, gather proof and items, rally police/NPC help, pursue an escape or detention plan.
  4. Michael pressure: Stalk, blackout lights, eliminate residents and Special Targets (/michael-myers/abilities/).
  5. End state: Civilians escape or detain Michael—or Michael wins by denying their objectives.

Confirmed objectives include:

  • Convince residents that Michael is real
  • Escort or save residents under pressure
  • Search the environment for items and contact police
  • Use randomized escape options that change between matches
  • Coordinate as police response escalates
  • Command or equip NPC allies when the systems allow

Because escape and item locations vary, routes that worked in one match may not work in the next—IllFonic highlights this as core replayability.

Confirmed objectives include:

  • Eliminate residents to stop Civilian progress
  • Hunt Special Targets for time-limited rewards
  • Use Killer Sense, Stalk, Shape Jump / Shape Dash, and blackouts to control engagements

Overview: /michael-myers/.

Confirmed: Downed Civilians are not always out for good—they may return as Sheriff’s Deputy or Dr. Loomis to keep assisting the team.

Exact rules are launch verification pending.

  • Story mode and offline bot play are separate from standard online multiplayer—/bots-private-lobbies-offline/
  • Private lobbies are reported by third-party outlets but lack full official detail on AI fill—treat as tentative until IllFonic confirms

Cross-platform multiplayer is officially indicated on Xbox store materials, but IllFonic has not published a complete PS5 ↔ Xbox ↔ Steam ↔ Epic pairing matrix. See /multiplayer/crossplay/.

PC players should review /pc/system-requirements/ and /steam-deck/ before launch.

  • Published match timer and overtime rules (/match-length-timer/)
  • Party invite flow, crossplay toggle, and account linking
  • Voice chat and moderation tools
  • Exact NPC command UI and police escalation timings
